Observations on Media Create for the Week of January 12, 2015 – January 18, 2015
Nintendo platforms got 31 titles of 50.
Nintendo platforms got 31 titles of 50.
I'm currently testing new indexes for the upcoming fiscal year.
And Nintendo owned Japan's New Year sales as well.
And Nintendo owns this Japanese Christmas.
Over two and half times more games in charts on Nintendo than on the competition this Japanese Christmas season.
Then again there are more "staying power" titles on Wii U than on any competitor's platform in Japan.
Smash 4 Wii U boosted Japanese Wii U sales by nearly 100% to their current highest peak in the fiscal year.
The 3DS still owns over half of the previously released titles in charts.
For the first time this fiscal year, there are more Wii U titles than PS Vita titles in Media Create Top 50.
The new Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle sent the Wii U back to over 10K in Japan.
Every single 3DS title in the charts -- save for the "Monster-Watch-Bros." trinity -- went up. (How could they though. They were already on top.)
Though it may not seem like it, counting only the games staying in charts has Nintendo claiming the most titles.
Just a little more and with the upcoming Mario Kart 8 bundle, Wii U will reach 2 million in Japan this month.
MH4U, SSB 4 3DS, Yokai Watch 2.
The release of the New Nintendo 3DS boosted already-dominating 3DS hardware sales by over 1,000%.
Wii U titles hanging on as 3DS domination continues.
And Wii U outsells PS4 in Japan again.
3DS got a 10% boost without the need for any new game. Wii U got +19% thanks to Bayonetta 2.
The end of the killing spree.
As always, your weekly address of Wii U outselling PS4 in Japan.
