The competition runs from Thursday, January 14, at 4:00 p.m. PST through Sunday, January 17, at 3:59 p.m. PST.

All Trainers who participate in the competition will receive 50 Battle Points, which can be received after rankings are announced. Players must participate in at least one battle to receive the Battle Points. Pokémon Players Cup III participation is open to Masters Division players only. Age division cutoffs have not changed from previous Pokémon Players Cup events, so the Masters Division includes all players born in 2004 or earlier. This competition will use the rules established in Ranked Battles Series 7.

Competition Format

The Pokémon Players Cup III Qualifier Online Competition will be comprised of Double Battles. Each Trainer can bring a lineup of four to six Pokémon of Lv. 1–100, and all Pokémon will become Lv. 50 for the duration of each battle. Four Pokémon can be selected per battle. Mythical Pokémon are not eligible, but many Pokémon from The Crown Tundra are fair game, including a number of Legendary Pokémon. For a list of Pokémon prohibited from competing, view the Ranked Battles Series 7 rules. All eligible Pokémon must have the battle-ready symbol or must have been obtained in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield.

Total game time per battle is 20 minutes. Each Trainer will be allotted seven minutes in total. Preview time is 90 seconds, and turn time is 45 seconds. Trainers can compete in a maximum of 15 battles per day. Trainers who don’t reach the daily limit can carry additional battles over to the following day. Each battle day ends at 5:00 p.m. PST.
