January 19, 2021

Pokémon GO Trainers have already toasted Sinnoh and Unova as part of the ongoing celebration of the many beloved regions that make up the Pokémon world, and next it’s time to show Hoenn some love! From Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, January 24, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time, the Hoenn Celebration event will see the diverse Hoenn region take center stage.

Hoenn is home to some amazing Pokémon that you can catch as part of the event’s Collection Challenge. If you catch Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Nincada, Nosepass, Aron, Plusle, Minun, and Bagon during the event, you’ll receive three Silver Pinap Berries, XP, Incense, and an Elite Collector medal as a reward. Pokémon including Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Taillow, Nosepass, Aron, Meditite, Roselia, Carvanha, Numel, and Baltoy will be appearing more frequently in the wild, and lucky Trainers might even encounter a Shiny Aron.

The Hoenn Celebration event will also feature Skitty, Aron, Corphish, Lileep, Anorith, Bagon, and Beldum hatching from 5 km Eggs. One-star raid Pokémon will include Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Aron, and Bagon. Three-star raid Pokémon will include Breloom, Mawile, Grumpig, Spinda, and Absol. And finally, the mighty Legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon will be featured in five-star raids. If you complete event-exclusive Field Research tasks, you can also expect encounters with Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Aron, Plusle, Minun, or Wailmer.

Last but not least, if you evolve a Metang before the event ends, you can get a Metagross that knows Meteor Mash! This Steel-type attack was originally featured in Pokémon GO’s Community Day in October 2018 and is considered one of the Iron Leg Pokémon’s best moves for both the GO Battle League and Gym battles.

Enjoy the Hoenn Celebration event through January 24 at 8:00 p.m. local time, and then get ready for the next Pokémon GO regional celebration highlighting Johto. Stay tuned for information about that event soon.
