The Winter Professor Cup Online event is a thank-you to Professors who have helped fans and players enjoy Play! Pokémon activities during the hiatus of the Championship Series. From online League sessions to play-at-home Prerelease tournaments, they continue to help keep the fun of Pokémon in their communities.

The Professor Cup Online takes place on Saturday, December 19, and Sunday, December 20. It features two separate online tournaments; one for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online and one for the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games. Each tournament uses a challenging, quirky format that Professors must master. This time, players must build their deck or team according to special type restrictions!

Those who place highly in the first competition will be invited to play in a combined top cut and will compete to become the Winter Professor Cup Online Champion! The Professors who place the highest will earn special commemorative trophies and an exclusive messenger bag featuring the powerful Water-type Pokémon Blastoise. Other prizes, such as Professor-branded playmats, notebooks, and booster packs of the latest TCG set, are also available as prizes. In addition, all who compete in the Winter Professor Cup Online will receive a special in-game set of sleeves and a deck box for their Pokémon TCG Online account—also featuring Blastoise.

The Winter Professor Cup Online is open to Professors in good standing with Play! Pokémon who meet either of the following criteria:

  • Have a Stage 1 or Stage 2 certification
  • Have attended four or more individual online Professor seminars or webinars since March 23, 2020

Visit the Pokémon Organized Play forums for more details and to register for this special tournament.

Thank you again to all of the amazing Play! Pokémon Professors!
