Pokémon GO July 2019 Battle Changes
New mechanics and more attacks for certain Pokémon are making Pokémon GO battles better than ever.
July 10, 2019
Changes are on the way in Pokémon GO to make battling even more fun than before. Charged Attacks will be more fun to use in Trainer Battles with new swiping and tapping mechanics. Some Pokémon will be able to learn moves they couldn’t before, and some moves will be seen in Pokémon GO for the first time—including the first Fairy-type Fast Attack. Look forward to coming up with new strategies ahead of your next battle!
Several Pokémon will now be able to pair Fast and Charged Attacks of the same types, such as Aerodactyl with Rock-type attacks and Moltres with Flying-type attacks. Other Pokémon can now learn Charged Attacks from types they couldn’t before that will help them cover for their type weaknesses, such as Alolan Raichu with Grass Knot and Electivire with Ice Punch. Perhaps the most exciting moves in this update are Charm, the first Fairy-type Fast Attack, and Skull Bash, a new Charged Attack with a Defense-raising effect.
Check out the full list of moves Pokémon can now learn with this update.
