Winter Wonders in Pokémon GO

Get up and GO for the holidays with the special two-week Pokémon GO Holidays event.

December 14, 2018

Make the holidays even more festive with great bonuses during the Pokémon GO Holidays event, including a better chance of hatching Pokémon like Smoochum and Azurill from Eggs and the chance to catch special event-themed Pokémon. More Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region are appearing, too!

From December 18 through January 2, look for special Pikachu geared up for the holidays—they’ll be wearing festive hats! Delibird will also make an appearance. There’s even the chance you’ll catch a Shiny one. And with the thermometer dropping, you can expect more Ice-type Pokémon to show up near you, too.

To go along with all these Pokémon sightings, look forward to great bonuses for the duration of the event. Each bonus period starts and ends at 1 p.m. PST. The bonuses change every few days. Here’s the schedule:

  • December 18–22: Double Candy for catching and transferring Pokémon
  • December 22–26: Double Stardust for catching Pokémon
  • December 26–30: Double XP for catching Pokémon
  • December 30–January 2: Incubators are twice as effective

Plus, you’ll receive one Incubator daily when you spin your first PokéStop Photo Disc of the day. They’ll come in extra handy because even more Pokémon will be available in 7 km Eggs—the Eggs you get from opening Gifts from your friends—for a limited time. And during the event, you’re more likely to find these Pokémon in 7 km Eggs than you normally would be.

December 18 also marks the date when more Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region will start showing up around the world. Look for a wider variety of Pokémon in the wild, in addition to newly available Pokémon that hatch from Eggs. These Pokémon will continue to appear after the Pokémon GO Holidays event ends on January 2.

Bundle up and enjoy holiday bonuses starting December 18 in Pokémon GO!
