Collect Choice Chikorita During Community Day!

Net a Meganium that knows Frenzy Plant and search for Shiny Chikorita on Saturday, September 22.

September 18, 2018

This week’s Community Day is the first to feature a Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto Region—the Grass-type Pokémon Chikorita! Just like with the other Community Days, this month’s star, Chikorita, will appear much more frequently in the wild than normal during this special event. The festivities will take place only for three hours on Saturday, September 22, so make sure you’re ready to go when the Chikorita start appearing!

If you evolve a Bayleef into Meganium during the three-hour window, your new Meganium will know the powerful Charged Attack Frenzy Plant, a move Meganium cannot normally learn. You won’t be able to teach Meganium this move using a Charged TM, so don’t forget to evolve your Bayleef before the event ends! During the event, you’ll also earn three times the usual XP for catching Pokémon, Lure Modules will last for three hours, and you might even have your first encounter with a Shiny Chikorita.

Check below to find out when the event hours fall in your region of the world:

  • The Americas: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PDT
  • The Asia-Pacific region: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. JST
  • Europe, the Middle East, and Africa: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. UTC

Stock up on Poké Balls, get your Lure Modules ready, and prepare to enjoy another exciting swarm of rare Pokémon. When you share your experiences on social media, remember to use the hashtag #PokemonGOCommunityDay so everyone sees your accomplishments. We’ll see you on Saturday, September 22!
