Niantic Partners with UNWTO’s Travel.Enjoy.Respect Program
November 20, 2018
Today, we’re happy to announce that we’ll be partnering with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to enhance global tourism with our cutting-edge Augmented Reality technology, creating unique campaigns for the organization’s Travel.Enjoy.Respect program.
Over the past couple months, Niantic has been working extensively with UNWTO to encourage global tourism and worldwide civic engagement in a fun, friendly, and novel way for travelers. Sustainable tourism is the primary importance of Travel.Enjoy.Respect, and our future projects will keep that in mind as we create original experiences at sites around the world.
Our goal at Niantic is to create interactive games that encourage exercise, social interaction and exploration, giving players the opportunity to play together in the real world and discover the incredible history hidden right in their own neighborhoods. We’re looking forward to creating brand new adventures for our players in collaboration with UNWTO to increase awareness around its mission of responsible tourism.
Stay tuned for more updates on our global activations throughout the course of this partnership. We’re looking forward to showing you how our technology can encourage and promote sustainable global tourism.
