Make a Splash in Pokémon GO!

Catch a boatload of Water-type Pokémon and earn other great bonuses during Pokémon GO’s Water Festival.

June 07, 2018

You’ll have oceans of fun as the Water Festival returns to Pokémon GO! Starting June 7, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. PDT and lasting until June 21, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. PDT, Water-type Pokémon, such as Magikarp and Wailmer, will appear more frequently in the wild—a big help if you’re trying to collect enough Candy to evolve a Gyarados or Wailord. If you’re particularly lucky, you may even encounter a rare Shiny Shellder, so be on the lookout!

In addition to the schools of Water-type Pokémon, other special bonuses will be active during the event. Any Water-type Pokémon you catch will yield three times the usual Stardust, and any Egg hatched will earn double the Candy and Stardust. In case you need more incentive, 2 km Eggs will potentially contain exciting Pokémon such as Totodile, Mudkip, or Corphish.

The Water Festival will influence Raid Battles as well. Powerful Water-type Pokémon will be featured throughout the event, including the exciting return of the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre. But prepare yourself—if you challenge Kyogre during the Water Festival and emerge victorious, there’s a chance that you will encounter its Shiny form!

So, stock up on Poké Balls and grab a few Raid Passes to make sure things go swimmingly as you dive into Pokémon GO during the Water Festival!
