With the release of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, the Virtual Console release of Pokémon Crystal, and the new Detective Pikachu, there are an awful lot of great Pokémon titles to play on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. But if just playing these terrific games isn’t enough, why not enjoy them on the New Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition?
There’s no overlooking this delightful device, colored a bright shade of Pikachu yellow and bearing the face of the popular Electric-type Pokémon on the lid. To add an extra dimension to the design, this Pikachu’s cheeks and nose are slightly raised, giving the system a unique look (and it’s perfect for booping Pikachu on the nose!). The system’s buttons are even colored brown like Pikachu’s stripes to complement the color scheme.
As for the system itself, the dual screens are significantly larger than those on a standard Nintendo 2DS, giving players a better view of the action. It also sports built-in amiibo support, a faster processor, and the ability to play Nintendo 3DS games in 2D.
