Xenoblade Chronicles X

Update:
Monolith Soft’s X has been officially titled Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Iwata Asks,
In Conversation with Takahashi & Sakaguchi

Iwata:
And how about you, Takahashi-san?

Takahashi:
For this title [Xenoblade Chronicles], we defined all the elements needed for an RPG, calculated the productivity required from each member of the staff and collected data indicating precisely how long the process took.

Iwata:
Really? Is that right?

Takahashi:
Yes. My aim was to prepare myself properly for the next time I need to step up and take on the world. In the future, we can build on that basis, though of course you always need to come up with new ideas too. My plan was to see more clearly how we could make a product using the particular skills and talents at our disposal. […]

Two years after this interview, came the reveal:

And just like Xenoblade before it, the game is a grand scale, open-world, Japanese RPG.

What I mean to say is this: Tetsuya Takahashi had his plans for X ever since Xenoblade. He’s been planning this game all along and, if “tak[ing] on the world” is any indication, he’s definitely very ambitious about it.

Yet that’s not the main reason that drives me to believe that Monolith Soft’s X’s final name is “XenoWorld.” Something which hints it to me is a little more flagrant. But first, take a look at this raw gameplay footage:

The following screenshots I’ve made from the footage have been suggested to me by GameXplain’s analysis, but even they didn’t take their own findings seriously:

United States. With the American flag.

The station you see in the foreground is an American station, in a fantasy world.

A grand scale, open-world, sci-fi fantasy JRPG by the creators of the Xeno games, stamped with a red “X” on it. The lore of Xeno, mixed with the world as we know it.

“XenoWorld.” You’ve heard it here first.
