And Smash Ultimate rules Christmas.
We've now reached 40 out of 50 games on Nintendo in one of the busiest weeks of the year.
The Switch in Japan is already less than one million units away from the PS4. Which in conjunction with its momentum means you really must not like consumer money as a Japanese developer if you're not putting your game on Nintendo's platform.
And Smash gets even bigger sales numbers.
Even the 3DS has as many games in charts as the PS4.
There's usually a hardware sales dip right after the launch of a big title, but given the holiday season and other parameters, the Switch only lost 9 units from its Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launch momentum.
The Ultimate Smashing continues.
The launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate more than doubled the number of Switches sold that week, and I could guarantee the announcement of Joker in Smash will help that number remain high throughout the end of the year.
Nearly 300,000 Switches sold in a single week in Japan thanks to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
And Super Smash Bros. Ultimate lands with a bang.
Even before Smash came out the Switch had another push above 100,000 units sold a week in the Japanese market.
Weird, they only showed sales numbers for the top 20 this time again.
Pokémon Let's Go enjoying its third and final week on top before the launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
The Switch now at 100k+ units in a week even after the Pokémon Let's Go launch push. Imagine the outlook when Smash Ultimate comes out.
40 weeks in a row. Also, Media Create now shows sales numbers for each of the 50 titles in charts.
That's week two for Eevee and Pikachu.
Maybe by the time the generation ends there'll be at least one week when all 50 games in charts will be on Nintendo but hey, we shall see.
Now the holiday season really begins.
Oof. 600k+ for Pokémon Let's Go. 200k+ for the Nintendo Switch.
Still 34 games on Nintendo. I wanna see that 40 on Christmas week.
