There are several differences between Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, and one such difference is the species of Pokémon that appear.
For example, Deino and Jangmo-o only appear in Pokémon Sword…
While Larvitar and Goomy only appear in Pokémon Shield.
Sirfetch’d will make its appearance in Pokémon Sword.
Galarian Ponyta will make its appearance in Pokémon Shield.
Stonjourner appears in Pokémon Sword.
Eiscue appears in Pokémon Shield.
Galarian Darumaka appears in Pokémon Sword.
Galarian Corsola appears in Pokémon Shield.
Galarian Darmanitan appears in Pokémon Sword.
Cursola appears in Pokémon Shield.
Each Version of the Game Has Different Gym Leaders for You to Challenge!
Certain towns will have different Gyms that you can challenge depending on whether you’re playing Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield!
In Pokémon Sword, you’ll face down Bea.
While in Pokémon Shield, you can test your skills against Allister.
In Pokémon Sword, you will face Gordie.
While you’ll have to take on his mother, Melony, in Pokémon Shield.
