Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Dragon King Cup Registration Begins

Get ready for massive melees featuring the most powerful Legendary Pokémon.

Will you reign in the Dragon King Cup Online Competition? Register and compete to see if you have what it takes! This online tournament allows Trainers to select one powerful Pokémon that is usually not permitted on their Battle Team. This includes many of the awesome Pokémon that Trainers can encounter in The Crown Tundra, the second part of the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass.

You can sign up for the Dragon King Cup through December 10, 2020, at 3:59 p.m. PST by following the instructions below. The competition will run from December 10 at 4:00 p.m. PST through December 13 at 3:59 p.m. PST.

 

Eligible Pokémon include Galar Pokédex No. 001–400, Isle of Armor Pokédex No. 001–210, and Crown Tundra Pokédex No. 001–210, as well as Mewtwo, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Treecko, Grovyle, Sceptile, Torchic, Combusken, Blaziken, Mudkip, Marshtomp, Swampert, Latias, Latios, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Dialga, Palkia, Heatran, Regigigas, Giratina, Cresselia, Tornadus, Thundurus, Reshiram, Zekrom, Landorus, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye, Litten, Torracat, Incineroar, Popplio, Brionne, Primarina, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Nihilego, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Celesteela, Kartana, Guzzlord, Necrozma, Poipole, Naganadel, Stakataka, and Blacephalon. Review the Eligible Pokémon section of the competition rules from within your game for restrictions and details. Each Pokémon in your Battle Team must have the Galar symbol or battle-ready symbol.

You’ll be competing in Single Battles and won’t be able to use more than one of the same Pokémon or item on your team. If you battle in the Dragon King Cup, you’ll receive a participation gift of 50 Battle Points.

 

How to Register for the Dragon King Cup

  1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
  2. Open the X menu.
  3. Select VS.
  4. Select Battle Stadium.
  5. Select Online Competitions.
  6. Select Search Official Competitions.

 

How to View Your Rankings

  1. After the competition has ended, launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
  2. Open the X menu.
  3. Select VS.
  4. Select Battle Stadium.
  5. Select Online Competitions.
  6. Select Search Official Competitions.

 

How to Receive the Participation Gift of 50 Battle Points

  1. After the competition has ended, launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
  2. Open the X menu.
  3. Select Mystery Gift.
  4. Select Get a Mystery Gift.
  5. Select Get Battle Stadium Rewards.
