Earn Battle Points by testing your skills against other Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield players from around the world.

Get ready to face some powerful opponents when you take part in the Battle of Legends Online Competition for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. This competition allows each Trainer to have one Legendary Pokémon or Mythical Pokémon on their Battle Team, so prepare to test your mettle against the likes of Mewtwo, Lunala, and Zacian! This global event pits Pokémon Trainers from around the world against one another in a weekend of action-packed battles. By competing in at least one battle in the Battle of Legends, you will earn a participation gift of 50 Battle Points.

The sign-up period for the Battle of Legends competition is from Wednesday, September 30, at 5:00 p.m. PDT until Thursday, October 15, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.

 

To register for the competition, follow these steps:

  1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
  2. Open the X menu.
  3. Select VS.
  4. Select Battle Stadium.
  5. Select Online Competitions.
  6. Select Search Official Competitions.

 

The competition takes place from Thursday, October 15, at 5:00 p.m. PDT until Sunday, October 18, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. You can register your Battle Team after the start of the competition. The competition is comprised of Double Battles, and your Battle Team cannot have more than one of the same Pokémon, nor can you have more than one of the same item.

 

Any Pokémon that was obtained in the Galar region or that has the battle-ready symbol is eligible for the competition. However, you can have only one of the following special Pokémon registered to your Battle Team:

  • Mewtwo
  • Mew
  • Celebi
  • Jirachi
  • Reshiram
  • Zekrom
  • Kyurem
  • Keldeo
  • Cosmog
  • Cosmoem
  • Solgaleo
  • Lunala
  • Necrozma
  • Magearna
  • Marshadow
  • Zeraora
  • Meltan
  • Melmetal
  • Zacian
  • Zamazenta
  • Eternatus
  • Zarude

You can look for the ranking results in October 2020 (subject to change). To view your rankings after the competition, follow these steps:

  1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
  2. Open the X menu.
  3. Select VS.
  4. Select Battle Stadium.
  5. Select Online Competitions.
  6. Select Search Official Competitions.

 

To receive your participation gift after the competition, follow these steps:

  1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
  2. Open the X menu.
  3. Select Mystery Gift.
  4. Select Get a Mystery Gift.
  5. Select Get Battle Stadium Rewards.
