Have you been watching the Pokémon Players Cup, this summer’s prestigious online battling tournament featuring top competitors from all over the world? The final rounds of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield matches will be airing starting at 11:00 a.m. PDT on August 22 and August 23, 2020. If you tune in, you’ll be treated to more than just some amazing battles—you’ll also get the chance to receive a powerful, battle-ready Pokémon of your own!
At points throughout the broadcast of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Players Cup Finals, a special password will be displayed to viewers. Enter this password into the Mystery Gift feature in your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game to receive a Porygon2 expertly trained to battle with Trick Room strategies, just as you might have seen in Pokémon Players Cup battles. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to add the Virtual Pokémon to your team to celebrate a great online tournament! The password will only work until August 31, 2020, so make sure to enter it before then!
To claim your in-game gift, follow these steps:
- Watch the broadcast of the Players Cup VG Finals to find the password.
- Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
- Select Mystery Gift on the X menu.
- Select Get a Mystery Gift.
- Select Get with Code/Password to connect to the internet.
- Enter the password.
- Watch as the gift arrives in your game. (Pokémon will appear in your party or your Pokémon Boxes.)
- Be sure to save your game.
