Giovanni & Mewtwo, Lance & Dragonite, and Cynthia & Garchomp Come to Pokémon Masters

Experience a legendary event and team up with Team Rocket’s boss, and then prepare for the arrival of even more new sync pairs.

November 26, 2019

A new sync pair will be bringing trouble to the island of Pasio. The first legendary event of Pokémon Masters will feature a new story event in which you’ll confront Team Rocket’s boss and his Pokémon, Giovanni & Mewtwo. You’ll even be able to add Giovanni & Mewtwo to your team once you complete the event. Luckily, Grimsley & Liepard will be featured in the sync pair scout later in the month. This Dark-type sync pair will give you an advantage over Giovanni & Mewtwo.

Once you’ve teamed up with Giovanni & Mewtwo, you can use custom items to unlock their level cap and allow them to learn new moves. Taking on Giovanni & Mewtwo in co-op battles will earn you more drops of custom items as well, if you’re up to the challenge.

Looking to the future, mid-December will feature two new sync pairs: the Indigo Plateau Champion and his Pokémon, Lance & Dragonite, and the Sinnoh region Champion and her Pokémon, Cynthia & Garchomp. The sync pairs Rosa & Delibird and Siebold & Octillery will also appear in festive costumes.

Updates to the game in January will include new ways to train your sync pairs in your own personal way, and February updates will bring the Battle Villa, a feature that focuses on building your sync pair teams. Check back later for more information about these exciting features.
