Pokémon GO’s Supereffective Week Brings Charged TMs and Shiny Tentacool

This special event lets you earn valuable bonuses and build a well-balanced team filled with Pokémon of many types.

November 19, 2019

When taking a Pokémon into battle, it’s important to remember that each Pokémon has strengths and weaknesses against other Pokémon based on their moves and their type matchups. A great Trainer knows this, of course, but it’s always useful to get an occasional reminder about which Pokémon are likely to be effective against others. Pokémon GO‘s Supereffective Week event will let you put your Pokémon knowledge to the test.

From November 19, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PST to November 26, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PST, you’ll find Pokémon with a wide variety of types appearing in the wild. With Pokémon like Clefairy (Fairy), Machop (Fighting), Tentacool (Water/Poison), Gastly (Ghost/Poison), Rhyhorn (Ground/Rock), Murkrow (Dark/Flying), Teddiursa (Normal), Swinub (Ice/Ground), and Torchic (Fire) popping up, you’ll have a team with a good range of types in no time.

Likewise, other Pokémon, like Golem (Rock/Ground), Pinsir (Bug), Vaporeon (Water), Dragonite (Dragon/Flying), Espeon (Psychic), Tyranitar (Rock/Dark), Beldum (Steel/Psychic), and Shinx (Electric), will be appearing in raids to help fill out your ranks. To test your skills, you can take on Field Research tasks that ask you to use supereffective Charged Attacks in Gym battles. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Tentacool, which will give you a very special Water- and Poison-type Pokémon for your team.

In addition to all the Pokémon that can be encountered, Trainers are guaranteed to earn a Charged TM from three-star raids. These valuable items will help arm your Pokémon with your desired Charged Attacks. You’ll also get twice the Stardust from Trainer Battles and more Potions and Revives from PokéStops.

So get ready, Trainers! The skills you work on during Supereffective Week will go far in helping you form a well-balanced team to take down Team GO Rocket and triumph in any PvP battles you might face.
