Pokémon GO is celebrating its third anniversary, and to celebrate, all sorts of fantastic bonuses will be available throughout July and August. Be sure to head out and explore even more this summer to take advantage of these features and to make some new Pokémon GO memories that you’ll cherish in the years to come!
Starting June 28, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PDT, you’ll have a chance of encountering Shiny Alolan Pokémon. Be on the lookout for Pokémon such as Alolan Meowth, Alolan Grimer, the towering Alolan Exeggutor, and more! There will also be avatar items featuring the team leaders’ personal styles available in the Style Shop.
From June 28, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PDT through July 6, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PDT, a familiar Pokémon will return to get in on the festivities. Once per day, you will have the chance to encounter a special Pikachu wearing a party hat when you take a Pokémon GO Snapshot photo. So, get snapping, and you might be able to add this party-loving Pokémon to your team!
Finally, from June 28, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PDT through September 2, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PDT, there will be a selection of bonuses that are perfect for Trainers who may have missed out on some of Professor Willow’s previous assignments or for those new Trainers who are just starting the game.
During this time, there will be Special Research tasks that grant helpful rewards for Trainers level 10 or higher. Also, if you engage in raids with your friends, you’ll be able to take down Raid Bosses even faster, and you’ll earn extra bonus Premier Balls for catching the defeated Pokémon after the battle. There will even be a greater incentive to trade Pokémon, as trades will require 25% less Stardust than usual.
Grab your friends, pack a picnic lunch, and get ready! There are a lot of reasons to celebrate Pokémon GO’s third anniversary this summer, and you don’t want to miss out on a single one. Have fun, Trainers!
