If you’ve already picked up the Super Smash Bros.™ Ultimate game, we hope you’re loving every action-packed minute. And if you haven’t yet purchased, now is the time. If you buy and register the game by Jan. 31, 2019, you’ll get Piranha Plant as free DLC!*
Make sure you’ll get the free fighter by following these steps to register your game:
Digital Version
If you buy the digital version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before 11:59 p.m. PT on Jan. 31, 2019…then it will automatically be registered. You’ll receive a download code** for the Piranha Plant DLC at the email associated with your Nintendo Account within 10 days after registering. Enter the code on Nintendo eShop and you’re set.
Retail Version
If you buy the retail version, then you’ll need to register your game card with My Nintendo before 11:59 p.m. PT on Jan. 31, 2019. Here are the steps:
1) First, create a My Nintendo account at my.nintendo.com if you haven’t already done so.
2) Insert the game card into your Nintendo Switch console and highlight the game icon on the HOME menu.
3) Press the + or – button to access the software Options menu.
4) Highlight “My Nintendo Rewards Program,” then select “Earn Points (Game Card version only)” to finish the process.
Once registered, you’ll receive the download code** via the email associated with your Nintendo Account within 10 days. Enter that code on Nintendo eShop.

For even more downloadable goodies, check out the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass. This pass gives you access to each DLC Challenger Pack as they are released. Five Challenger Packs are planned, each with a new fighter, new stage, and additional music selections. The first fighter has already been announced: Joker from Persona 5!
