Prepare for Battle in Germany and Spain

Two huge European Pokémon TCG and Video Game Championship Series competitions will take place in Germany and Spain this autumn!

August 31, 2017

Players from anywhere in the world may compete in Bremen, Germany, on September 16–17 and in Bilbao, Spain, on September 30–October 1 in exciting Pokémon TCG and video game tournaments! Cool prizes are on the line, including trophies, playmats, up to 108 Pokémon TCG booster packs, up to 200 Championship Points, and more. And that’s not all: in Bremen, Pokémon TCG players can win up to $5,000 in cash prizes, and video game players can win up to $3,000 (depending on attendance). The Bilbao event does not offer cash prizes.

The Bremen Regional Championships will take place at the Musical Theater on September 16–17. The Bilbao Special Event will take place at the Euskalduna Conference Centre on September 30–October 1.

In Bremen, the Pokémon TCG competition will use the Standard format, while in Bilbao, it will use the Expanded format. At both events, video game competitors will battle using the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games.

Both Pokémon TCG and video game players will play Swiss rounds on the first day, with the best players advancing to Day Two. Day Two may feature additional Swiss rounds followed by a top cut, dependent on the number of players.

At the Regional Championships in Bremen, fees for participation are €35 for all Masters Division players and €20 for all Junior and Senior Division players. More information can be found on the organizer’s website.

There is no entry fee for the Special Event in Bilbao. More information can be found on the organizer’s website.

Pokémon fans can also follow the action from Bilbao at home via a live stream on Pokemon.com/Live. We will be joined by an expert team of commentators who will break down the battles as the tournament progresses. Our Pokémon TCG commentators will be Ross Gilbert, Julian Scharf, Nicholas Pearce, and Joe Bernard. Our VG commentators will be Markus Stadter, Jay Blake, Lee Provost, and Labhaoisa Cromie.

Good luck battling at the upcoming Pokémon TCG and Video Game Championship Series events in Germany and Spain!
