When you want to immerse yourself in the world of Pokémon, what could be better than building that world yourself? With Mattel’s collection of Pokémon Mega Construx sets, you can assemble your own adventures piece by piece. Several sets are available now, and they feature lots of Pokémon to build and battle. Be on the lookout for these types of sets:

Pokémon Mega Construx

The Poké Ball series (MSRP $6.99 each) offers a simple, affordable way to amass a collection of Pokémon. Each Poké Ball comes with a single Pokémon—choose from Pikachu, Eevee, Meowth, Magikarp, Togepi, Geodude, and more. All the necessary bricks are included with the Poké Ball, which features prongs inside so you can display the Pokémon you’ve built.

Evolution sets (MSRP $9.99 each) are larger and—as their name implies—feature evolved Pokémon like Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartortle, and Torracat. They include a buildable environment and Poké Ball, plus battle effect pieces such as splashing water or burning flames.

Competition starts to get fierce with the Pokémon Battle series (MSRP $14.99 each). These action-packed sets feature confrontations between a pair of Pokémon—such as Litten vs. Popplio, Rowlet vs. Eevee, or Pikachu vs. Bulbasaur. Like the Evolution sets, each Pokémon Battle set also includes a buildable environment and cool battle effect pieces.

Some Pokémon are so big, they warrant their own sets. Such is the case with Charizard (MSRP $19.99) and Gyarados (MSRP $29.99). These impressive sets feature intricate details and plenty of articulation so you can create dynamic poses. They also include a buildable environment that doubles as a display stand, as well as a buildable Great Ball or Ultra Ball.

With so many Pokémon to build and collect, you’ll probably want a cool playset for them to inhabit. That’s where the Volcano Rivals set (MSRP $39.99) comes into play. This Toys“R”Us exclusive features a towering volcano as its centerpiece, complete with an opening gate and a trap that dumps translucent lava bricks on an unfortunate Pokémon below. Speaking of Pokémon, this set includes four: Pikachu (performing its Iron Tail attack), Growlithe, Krabby, and Diglett.

These Mega Construx sets are a fun, new take on the Pokémon world. Each set is compatible with the others—meaning you can mix and match your favorite environments and Pokémon—and the high-quality bricks are easy to assemble. Younger fans might need some help when building the more complex sets, but overall, Pokémon Mega Construx are a great way to add interactivity to playtime and collecting.
