We’ve got good news for gamers of all ages! The New Nintendo 2DS™ XL system is now available. It gives you the power of the New Nintendo 3DS™ XL system in a streamlined, affordable package. It also plays a huge library of games in 2D, including two brand-new releases: the Miitopia™ and Hey! PIKMIN™ games, both of which are now available too!
With XL screens that are 82% larger compared to the Nintendo 2DS system, the New Nintendo 2DS XL system has a new look and ergonomic design. Colorful accents add style, while the sleek clamshell design makes it comfortable to hold. A fast processor offers short loading times, so you can start playing in a snap. And it’s all in a lightweight, play-anywhere package.
You can play all Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS, and most Nintendo DS™ games in 2D on this system. Plus, the C Stick brings enhanced controls (like intuitive camera control) to compatible games, while ZL and ZR Buttons give you plenty of options.

In Miitopia, Mii™ characters based on your favorite people must unite to defeat The Dark Lord and save Miitopia! Cast them in roles across the kingdom, manage friendships, and give them jobs with distinct stats, abilities, gear, and a custom look. Then behold as awesomeness unfolds!
You can download two free Miitopia demos from Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo 3DS family system. In the Miitopia: Casting Call demo, you can pick some interesting Mii characters, or create your own. Assign each character a role, then cast them in one of three different video trailers for Miitopia. With humor, intrigue, and adventure, the video trailers will keep you wanting more.
While you’re visiting Nintendo eShop, you can also download a free demo for the Hey! PIKMIN game. In Hey! PIKMIN, Captain Olimar has crashed on an unknown planet inhabited by Pikmin™! The Miitopia and Hey! PIKMIN games are both compatible with certain amiibo™ figures. And guess what? The New Nintendo 2DS XL has built-in amiibo support! This feature that lets you tap a compatible amiibo figure to the near-field communication (NFC) reader on the lower screen to enjoy amiibo features in compatible games.
