Nintendo Switch arrived back in March and with 2017 coming to a close we thought we’d take a look at just 10 of the fantastic games available to play right now.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The boundary breaking The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was there on day one and received overwhelming acclaim from players and critics. After a 100-year slumber, Link wakes up alone in a world he no longer remembers. Now the legendary hero must explore a vast and dangerous land and regain his memories before Hyrule is lost forever.
Super Mario Odyssey
Embark on a cap-tivating, globe-trotting adventure full of secrets and surprises in Super Mario Odyssey. This time Mario has a new companion called Cappy, who you can use to Capture enemies and objects, allowing you to utilise their unique abilities! It’s up to you to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser’s sinister wedding plans!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Start your engines! Play anytime, anywhere, with anyone in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the biggest Mario Kart yet! With 40+ characters and a record-breaking 48 courses to race on there’s plenty to go at, whether you’re playing locally with up to eight players* or online** with up to 12. There’s even a brand new Battle Mode added, with five types of battle, including Balloon Battle and Renegade Roundup.
Splatoon 2
Traditional 4-on-4 turf battles return in Splatoon 2, along with new stages, new fashions and new weapons! Claim territory by covering it in ink. The team that claims the most turf wins! ARMS
Can you punch your way to the top? ARMS is a fighting game where you use stretchy weaponised arms to punch, thump and knock-out opponents. Get ready to put ‘em up, do battle with a colourful range of characters and fight to claim the number one title. With the Joy-Con, you’ll feel like you’re right there in the battle, dodging incoming attacks and throwing punches towards your opponent!
Fire Emblem Warriors
Heroes from across the Fire Emblem universe collide in Fire Emblem Warriors! Unleash over-the-top-powerful Dynasty Warriors-style moves as renowned and original Fire Emblem characters, and issue strategic commands in the midst of battle as you fend off hordes of enemies with stunning attacks. You can fight through historical moments from the Fire Emblem series solo, or join forces with a friend in local co-op multiplayer by handing them a Joy-Con.
Pokkén Tournament DX
Take the battle anywhere and challenge anyone with Pokkén Tournament DX, an intense one-on-one Pokémon fighting game. Take direct control of over 20 prized Battle Pokémon as you unleash a flurry of powerful moves in adrenaline-fuelled matches! Call upon Support Pokémon to assist in the fight, then unleash your Pokémon’s unique Burst Attack as you work your way up the ranks. With Pokkén Tournament DX’s intuitive fighting system, anyone can pick up a Joy-Con controller and have fun using their favourite Pokémon.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Arriving in December Xenoblade Chronicles 2 sees you play as Rex, a young man who embarks on an epic journey to find the promised land of Elysium alongside his Blade, Pyra. This JRPG sees you explore the expansive world of Alrest, taking on monsters and villains along the way!
Mario + Rabbids® Kingdom Battle
Two worlds collide in Mario + Rabbids® Kingdom Battle, an over-the-top strategy adventure. Form the most unlikely team of heroes to restore order to the Mushroom Kingdom, and battle through four twisted worlds filled with dynamic turn-based combat, challenging puzzles and unpredictable enemies.
1-2-Switch
Look at your opponent, not the screen! Detach the Joy-Con controllers from the console, hand one to your opponent and bam! It’s game time! Anyone can play 1-2-Switch!
