Pokémon GO Partners with Globe in Philippines, Joins Pokémon Fest

November 3, 2016

Trainers,

Last Friday, October 28th, 2016, we began an awesome partnership with Globe Telecom and The Pokémon Company in the Philippines!

Through this collaboration, we are really excited to be working with Globe to greatly expand the number of Gyms and PokéStops throughout the country. The addition of the cool Globe retail locations and helpful charging stations will enhance gameplay as Filipinos catch, battle and train all over the Philippines. On Globe Prepaid’s leading GoSURF50 mobile plan, customers will be able to access Pokémon GO as one of the free apps within the bundle as well as download the free Pokémon GO promo on the Globe Switch app.

We kicked off this announcement with a celebration: the first Philippine Pokémon Fest, which happened on October 28th and 29th in Manila. The event brought Pokémon GO to life through appearances, screenings and many other activities. A free event open to Pokémon fans and game enthusiasts alike, the Philippine Pokémon Fest featured walks and tours, costume contests and Pokémon GO Gym battles throughout the weekend.

For everyone outside of Philippines – Our aim is to make it even easier and more fun for you to play Pokemon GO, no matter where you are. Stay tuned for more announcements.
