The latest game in the Mario Party series was announced at E3*: Mario Party Star Rush for Nintendo 3DS family systems!
Waiting for your turn? Not this time!
In the Mario Party series up to now, each player took it in turns to roll the dice and move forward. However, in this game up to four players can roll the dice simultaneously and move on the map at the same time. No wait time means everyone can enjoy the game at a quick pace.
If you look closely, the familiar blue and red spaces are gone!
Everyone rolls the dice at the same time.
Minigames with allies?!
Everybody plays as a differently coloured Toad and moves towards the board map’s boss. When a player reaches the boss, a minigame starts. The player that gets to the boss first starts the minigame, and other players can join in the same minigame partway through.
The minigame starts with the player that reaches the boss first!
As you might expect, bosses have exceptional power!
However, this doesn’t mean the first player to arrive at the boss has an advantage…
Around the board map you’ll find some familiar characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, who can be recruited as allies. If you play minigames after teaming up with characters like Mario or Peach, they’ll compete in the minigame as well – and at the end, your ally’s points will be added to your own total!
Make characters on the map your allies!
Allies you recruit can also take part in the minigames!
Players can test out different strategies. You could aim straight for the boss and earn points in minigames without the help of allies, or search the board map to get help from other characters and have them earn points alongside you.
The sides on the dice change based on the character.
Which of the allies you gathered will roll the dice?
Lots of new minigames!
Of course, there are plenty of new minigames in this game for everyone to enjoy!
Here’s a peek at a delicious new minigame!
New amiibo in the Super Mario Collection are also coming soon!
These characters will be added to the Super Mario Collection of amiibo. Daisy, Waluigi and Boo will make their first appearance as amiibo, and new poses for Wario, Rosalina, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong will also be introduced. Mario Party Star Rush supports these amiibo.
Mario Party Star Rush will be released on October 7th. We’re preparing lots of modes aside those introduced here, so look out for more news later!
The Boo, Donkey Kong, Rosalina and Wario amiibo will also be released on October 7th, alongside Mario Party Star Rush, followed by Waluigi, Diddy Kong and Daisy on November 4th.
Please note that all content, media and artwork are based on this software as shown during the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June 2016. Check out our Mario Party Star Rush gamepage for further updates in the future!
