Nintendo Pocket Football Club is available now for Nintendo 3DS family systems – and if you’ve already been hard at work training your team and tweaking your tactics, you might be interested in a helping hand ahead of the upcoming tournaments! Add-on content teams are available to purchase from Nintendo eShop now, giving you the opportunity to improve your team in the areas that they need it most. Players from certain teams may even offer to join your squad!
You can find out more about the game on the official Nintendo Pocket Football Club website. If you’ve not purchased Nintendo Pocket Football Club yet, don’t forget: a special launch price is available in Nintendo eShop until 01/05/2014 23:59 local time!
Focused Training Teams
If your squad lacks skill in certain areas, schedule a match against a Focused Training Team to fancy up its footwork! Whether your defence is the weak link, your goalkeeper’s got butter fingers or your strikers can’t hit the target, there’s a Focused Training Team to test any position. Take on these teams to earn Training Cards that’ll really help you out where you need it!
Aegis AFC (£1.39) will work hard to keep most of the action on the player’s side of the pitch, so take the opportunity to earn some defensive Training Cards! You can play against this team after completing one season.
Raiders City (£1.39) prefer to hold back, giving you the chance to grab some attacking Training Cards by pushing forward into the opponent’s half! You can play against this team after completing one season.
Tough Tutors (£1.39) have great stamina, so your team will have to be on the ball to keep up and earn Training Cards to increase their staying power! You can play against this team after completing two seasons.
Finesse FC (£1.39) will keep your players on their toes with pinpoint passes and dreamy dribbling, so challenge them to pick up Training Cards that improve players’ speed and technique! You can play against this team after completing two seasons.
Goalie Gurus (£1.39) will give your keeper a real workout – keep the scoreline low and net some Training Cards to improve your goalie’s jumping! You can play against this team after completing three seasons.
Strike Team (£1.39) have a strong goalkeeper, but they’re poor elsewhere – send in your best attackers and score some Training Cards to improve your finishing! You can play against this team after completing three seasons.
Challenge Teams
Play against these weird and wonderful Challenge Teams to see a whole new side of the beautiful game! If you beat a Challenge Team, one of their players might ask to join your club – as long as there are no other special players already in your squad. Remember, you’ll earn Training Cards against these teams too!
Football Uni (£2.29) might seem like a pushover at first, but they’ll improve as you play – so don’t let your guard down! You can play against this team after completing one season.
Galactic V (£2.29) only have five players, but they’re faster than the average player – and they have some extra-terrestrial tricks up their sleeves, too! You can play against this team after completing two seasons.
Copy Cats FC (£2.29) force you to overcome a team made up of clones of one of your own players, selected at random from your squad! You can play against this team after completing three seasons.
You’ll need all the help you can get if you’re going to rank highly in our upcoming tournaments! The Welcome Cup takes place from 16/05/2014 14:00 UK time until 01/06/2014 22:59 UK time, and a few weeks later you can enter the International Cup, starting 20/06/2014 14:00 UK time until 06/07/2014 22:59 UK time.
Soon you’ll also be able to welcome several international teams to your grounds via SpotPass! Look out for SpotPass notifications that will let you know when a new team is ready to challenge – do you have what it takes to beat world class teams such as Italy, Spain and Germany?
You can find full details of the tournament and SpotPass team schedules on the official Nintendo Pocket Football Club website, which has been updated with loads of new info, including helpful hints to get you started and new gameplay trailers. You can also track your stats, research your rivals and see how you stack up against the rest of Europe on the dedicated Nintendo Pocket Football Club Stats page!
