The biggest surprise was definitely the lack of Japanese players advancing through the Last Chance Qualifier.
Groudon with Kyogre and Rayquaza with Xerneas tied as the pairings that sent the most players to Day Two with perfect records.

Given what happened last year they definitely did the right thing.
