A new update to the Fire Emblem Heroes game is here! Update version 1.5.0 features two new modes added to Story Maps:

1. Chain Challenge

This mode follows similar rules to Tempest Trials. You’ll need to complete multiple maps in a row without being wiped out! Each challenge contains a set number of maps and if you can clear the whole set in succession, you win.

If your team is defeated halfway through, you can put together a new group using your remaining Heroes and retry from the same map where you lost.

Also, with Chain Challenge you can get in-game items as rewards whenever you clear a challenge for the first time. Clear Chain Challenge on Normal and Hard to earn Hero Feathers, and clear on Lunatic to earn Orbs!

Chain Challenge mode is unlocked once you clear Chapter 2 in the Main Story.

2. Squad Assault

Squad Assault is a unique mode where Heroes are captured by the enemy after completing a map. Once captured, they cannot be deployed again until the challenge ends. Clear this mode to earn a Sacred Seal and Orbs!

Each Squad Assault stage contains a set number of maps and if you can clear the whole set in succession, you win. As with Chain Challenge, you can get items as rewards whenever you clear an assault for the first time.

What sets Squad Assaults apart from Chain Challenge is its brutal difficulty and reliance on multiple squads of unique Heroes!

Squad Assault is unlocked once you clear Chapter 1 in the Main Story.

That update is far from everything that’s planned for Fire Emblem Heroes in the near future. Be sure to check out these special events, which are coming soon:

Bound Hero Battle: Alm & Celica from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia has come to Special Maps!

July 6th at 12:00AM PT – July 12th at 11:59PM PT

A new type of Hero Battle has been added to Special Maps. Heroes who share a special connection are waiting for you to challenge them!

As with Hero Battles and Grand Hero Battles, the rules are strict: If any one of your allies is defeated, it’s game over*. There are three levels of difficulty: Hard, Lunatic, and Infernal, so you should only try these battles if you’re ready for a real challenge!

*Continuing using Light’s Protection or Orbs is also not possible.

*Heroes who appear in Bound Hero Battle won’t become allies even if they are defeated.

Tempest Trials: Resonating Fangs

July 7th at 12:00AM PT – July 20th at 11:59PM PT

This is the second Tempest Trials event, drawing from the characters of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. It promises fierce battles featuring Alm and Celica and their allies!

As with the first Tempest Trials, players can get various rewards, such as Orbs or Sacred Seals. You can even recruit a 4-star or 5-star Tobin, from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia for the Nintendo 3DS, as a reward. Keep trying for a high score!

Special Hero Summoning Event: Ylissean Summer

Until July 31st at 11:59PM PT

Popular Heroes from Fire Emblem Awakening (Robin, Frederick, Tiki and Gaius) appear in swimsuits. These Special 5-star Heroes have new skills related to their new summer looks!

No matter what part of this update you choose to challenge, it’ll test your mettle. Best of luck!
