With the recent launch of event Seasons in Pokémon GO, Trainers can now enjoy new experiences built around each Season’s theme. The first season, the Season of Celebration, is already underway, inviting Trainers to participate in events celebrating several of the amazing regions in the world of Pokémon. Each Season in Pokémon GO will reflect the actual season occurring in your location, and the Pokémon that appear will vary by hemisphere. For example, during the Season of Celebration, Trainers in the northern hemisphere will encounter Pokémon related to winter, while Trainers in the southern hemisphere will encounter Pokémon related to summer.
The Season of Celebration will conclude on Monday, March 1, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. local time. Until then, Trainers can take part in a series of in-game events featuring Pokémon first discovered in regions like Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos.
The Season of Celebration will also feature three different Pokémon in Mega Raids: Mega Charizard X and Mega Gengar will both be returning, while Mega Abomasnow will be making its Pokémon GO debut. In addition, Mega Evolving Charizard into Mega Charizard X during the first half of December will temporarily increase its total CP.
The Pokémon that appear in the wild, hatch from Eggs, and appear in raids will vary by Season. Some Pokémon will be difficult to find outside of certain Seasons, so be sure to catch them while you can! Also keep an eye out for Deerling, as it’ll appear in different forms depending on the season your hemisphere is in.
The GO Battle League is also being updated. Starting with Season 6, the GO Battle League will expand its ranks from 10 to 24, and the top four ranks will receive new names and corresponding medals. The newly introduced ranks will also establish a new structure for rewards.
Pokémon GO’s Seasons will change over time. You can look forward to new activities, features, and Pokémon in the coming months, so stay tuned.
Jump into the Season of Celebration and have fun with the many new features coming to Pokémon GO!
