GO Beyond with Pokémon GO Changes, Including More Levels, Event Seasons, Pokémon First Found in the Kalos Region, and More
Major changes will take Trainers beyond level 40, introduce Pokémon from the Kalos region, and increase XP rewards.
November 18, 2020
Pokémon GO is about to go beyond with a massive schedule of updates and events beginning this November. Trainers can look forward to opportunities to grow past level 40, redesigned event periods, Pokémon originally discovered in the Kalos region, and much more.
The excitement kicks off with 12 Days of Friendship, an event focusing on spreading goodwill to your fellow Trainers. From November 18, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to November 30, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST, Trainers can earn special bonuses for participating in activities with other Trainers.
Then, starting November 30, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST, it’s going to be easier than ever for Trainers to level up in Pokémon GO. The additional XP earned during the 12 Days of Friendship event will come in handy for Trainers who want to get the rewards available to those who achieve level 40 before the end of the year. Trainers who reach level 40 by the end of December and Trainers who have already reached level 40 will have access to special Timed Research and the Legacy 40 medal.
December 2 will be a big day for fans of the Kalos region—Pokémon originally discovered there will be appearing in the wild for the first time in Pokémon GO! Pokémon such as Greninja and Talonflame will be great additions to your team and will pack a real punch in your next Trainer Battle!
The way that Pokémon GO in-game events will be held is changing, too, implementing a model that will dole out content in Seasons. These Seasons will provide structure and greater variety to the Pokémon GO experience. Plus, the Pokémon GO Battle League will now run parallel to the timeframe of each Season, aligning all the fun ways to experience Pokémon GO throughout the entire year. Stay tuned for more information on Seasons, coming soon.
Those are only some of the exciting changes planned for Pokémon GO! Keep checking Pokemon.com and the official Pokémon GO blog for continued updates happening into next year.
