I can never emphasize enough — here — that I called this game to be a Wii U exclusive.

During E3, Nintendo and Valhalla Studios announced that Devil’s Third, a game being led by former head of Team Ninja, Tomonobu Itagaki, will be a Wii U-exclusive title. Itagaki recently shared more about the game in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine.
When asked about Nintendo, who will publish Devil’s Third, Itagaki stated that Nintendo loves games more than anyone. Not only that, but they love to play. Being able to make this game with Nintendo is what he sees as a huge opportunity.
He is then asked if Devil’s Third will have some sort of special elements on the Wii U.
Itagaki replies: “It is our policy to make full use of the hardware’s characteristics. I’m currently thinking along the lines of having something other than having you press down on the Wii U GamePad, and something that will make you say, ‘Oh, I see!’”
According to Famitsu, Itagaki previously stated that he would like to include elements we’ve yet to see in an online multiplayer game. While we still don’t know what they are, Itagaki mentions that the game takes place in North America, where you’ll participate in a campaign to fight until you’re the last one standing.
At first, you’ll start out as a simple citizen with weapons like iron pipes and regular pistols, but as the civil war breaks out, you’ll be able to continue fighting as a lone wolf or build your own organization to fight alongside.
Devil’s Third will have up to 16 players for its online mode, and Itagaki also mentioned that they’ll continue building on it after the game is released.
