I called it.

Update:
I called it.
Âmes sensibles s’abstenir…
At E3 2010, legendary game designer Tomonobu Itagaki — Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2, Dead Or Alive 1, 2, 3 & 4 — revealed his first game as indie studio Valhalla Game Studios, two years after leaving Tecmo. The game’s purpose was to infuse that Ninja Gaiden thrill of kill into the shooter genre many have come to enjoy.
Later came E3 2011:
And TGS 2011:

Then a couple of unforeseen events followed by the folding of the game’s publisher THQ, and there we have a quality third-party Japanese developer in need of a publisher: Bayonetta 2, anyone?
On December 28, 2013, Nico.A (@NicoWav) dropped the following bomb on Twitter:
On vient de me faire une confidence d’une exclusivité WiiU avec un éditeur tiers…ça va envoyer ! Sortie 2014!
On December 30, 2013, Itagaki confined in 4Gamer the following words:
“Next year will be the year we’ll be releasing the console game, Devil’s Third. At the moment, it is about 80% complete, and we can about see the end of it. However, there’s still a little more polishing that needs to be done. That’s also one of the reasons I’ve decided to work independently.”
Fast-forward March 27, 2014, Nico.A confirmed his previous bombing on Twitter:
L’exclusivité #WiiU sera bien annoncée cette année et plus encore ! Et ça va roxer! @NintendoTown@NM_Officiel@DansTonUWiiU@Gameblog
THE SAME DAY, Itagaki took it to Facebook for a reminder:
“Devil’s Third”
As already announced, we’ll finally reveal “Devil’s Third” this year!
You can see that we’ve upgraded our title logo.I wanted to go for the metallic feeling of the Breitling that I love so much.
But I don’t really wanna tell you exactly why, sorry;D*
*Editor’s note: Consider that Nintendo’s logo is also grey.
I would advise to expect the reveal on Nintendo’s show floor at E3 2014. I wouldn’t mind playing your game on my console, Itagaki-san: but rest assured that if that’s so, your fans will try to kill you.
We’re developing it so that it can be brought to as yet unknown hardware as well. Specifically, the various areas of technology are scalable. […] More than that, although I can’t say this easily because I don’t have any information, it’s possible that Nintendo could release a higher end console. Something like that.

I know a whole lot about it. It’s funny because that one there’s gonna be an announcement about soon. I don’t wanna spoil information but I can say I’m very close to Itagaki, and I’m very, very aware of Devil’s Third.
I can’t say very much because I believe there’s an upcoming announcement beyond what he said in January that’s pretty specific and very, very exciting. Even though I’m not working for any of these guys I have to respect all the confidentialities. There’s an update coming for sure.
